The SureDesk is a Work in Progress

Computers are not quite like TVs - when you turn them on, you actually intaract with your computer in many ways. This takes some training, both for the computer and for you.

For our part the SureDesk is a balancing act to find the optimal balance between four separate goals: performance, cost efficiency, flexibility and security. Our commitment is to provide solutions that to the greatest extent possible provide the best of each of these goals.

Most of you will have had years of training with your physical PCs, Macs and Laptops. We've worked very hard to make the SureDesk as similar as possible, but it's just a little bit different in some ways and a little bit the same in others.

The better you can understand the SureDesk, the better the experience is likely to work for you.

Please keep in mind:

The SureDesk does not exist anywhere that you can touch it. We rely on "virtualization" technology to assemble your SureDesk from servers that deliver Memory, Processing Power and Applications that are all stitched together to present you with a "virtual" desktop.

Send the windows command ctrl-alt-delete

To reset your password on a windows machine you need to press ctrl-alt-delete simultaneously on a windows keyboard.

On a Mac the command is ctrl-cmd-del if you have an extended keyboard. (del in this case is the delete key in the home/end key group on an extended keyboard)

If you have a compact keyboard or a laptop keyboard you don't have this extended del key (not the main delete/backspace key).

Sending the command on a compact keyboard

The first trick is to select "enhanced keyboard support" from the Keyboard menu in the Citrix ICA Client navigation at the top of your window.

Once this is selected press fn-ctrl-alt-delete and you should get the login manager popup. (in this case alt is the same as the option key and delete is the main delete/backspace key)

From that window just select the "change password" button.

Please see the Windows Password Rules FAQ
